Tap different keys repeatedly to build an interval histogram. Held-key auto-repeat is excluded.

These are intervals between browser keydown events, determined largely by your typing rhythm. They are not USB/Bluetooth polling intervals and cannot reveal your keyboard’s hardware polling rate or Hz. Charts and statistics retain the latest 300 samples.

01

How to explore keyboard event intervals on Mac

Focus the test and tap keys repeatedly. Inspect the average interval, median and histogram across multiple samples. The tool shows milliseconds between separate browser keydown events and excludes held-key autorepeat.

02

Why browser event rate is not USB keyboard polling rate

Hardware polling describes how often a device is queried. Browser keyboard events are generated only when input changes or software repeat occurs. Human tapping, macOS scheduling and browser processing affect the observed intervals.

03

How to verify a keyboard’s advertised polling rate

Check the manufacturer’s documentation and connection mode. Reliable verification needs tools that can inspect the relevant device or transport reports. A short browser event interval does not establish a 1,000 Hz or higher hardware specification.

More answers
Can this verify my keyboard’s 1,000 Hz polling rate?+

No. A browser does not expose the USB report schedule through ordinary keyboard events. This page presents event interval estimates, not a hardware polling certification.

Why does holding a key produce a steady rate?+

That is usually the operating system’s autorepeat behavior. It should not be interpreted as the keyboard’s USB or Bluetooth polling rate.
